The CAMP 2024 motocamping schedule is out!
Your wait is over! CAMP’s 2024 motocamping schedule is now live: go ahead and start planning. 2024 marks our fifth anniversary, and the list of events we have put together is our best one yet:
15 motocamping events, from April to October, in Arizona, Colorado, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia. See the list below month by month, or here.
4 dual sport motocamping rides, including three Back Country Discovery Routes (BDR) routes and a Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail Ride.
A motocamping ride around Lake Michigan/Lake Superior.
A canoe camping trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area of Minnesota.
We are making some changes that I hope will make your next motocamping season even better than 2023:
We are offering more events and new destinations, many of which recommended by you, our members.
We are organizing two full blown Rally events, in June in Michigan and in October in Virginia, with lots and lots of fun activities.
We have added new ways for members to save while motocamping with us: you can book CAMP events individually, or get a CAMP S’more pass (for our paved events) or a CAMP Dual Sport Rides Pass (for our dual sport events), or both - each pass saves you $150.
We are going to offer a “Glamp it up” option for some of our events: don’t worry about bringing your motocamping gear…just show up with your motorcycle and we will take care of the rest. Your luxurious tent with a motorcycle garage and a little porch for you to chill after a day of riding will be waiting for you, together with comfortable cots and camping furniture. Info on this offering will be coming soon.
Our commitment to grow the motocamping community by offering a super affordable way to get into the sport is unfaltering: 1) our motocamping events start at $30 this year, which is cheaper than last year; 2) you don’t own any motocamping gear but you want to try it out? Contact us - you can borrow some of our gear for free. That simple.
Here is a month by month overview of how CAMP 2024 season is going to play out. No time to read? Just go to our motocamping event page:
We will kick off our winter activities with our second annual CAMP Ice S'more, on January 13-14 - a one night of winter camping in Wisconsin. We will then have our fifth annual Winter Sports S'more, again in Wisconsin, on February 9-11.
By April most of us will be in motocamping withdrawal, so here is a treat for you: join us for CAMP Sedona S’more, our official motocamping season opener and our very first motocamping event in the wonderful red desert of Arizona, on April 14-17.
In May, we will kick off things both in the Midwest and down South on the same weekend, May 17-19: you can choose between our CAMP Door County S’more, a new location in Wisconsin, or our CAMP Smoky S’more, at a new location in Tennessee, still within the Smoky Mountains National Park. On Memorial Day weekend, May 22-27, we will also have our annual CAMP Trans Wisconsin Adventure Ride - our first dual sport ride of the season. We have increased the number of spots available for this one, since it is very popular, but don’t sit on it too much - it tends to book very fast, and we already have 5 riders signed up…
June is when things really start to heat up: we are going to have our very first Rally Event, CAMP UP Rally, in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, on June 6-9: the location may be the same we used last year, but that’s where the similarities end - this won’t be just a motocamping weekend, but an adventure filled with fun activities, paved and forest trail riding, training opportunities and chances to win prizes all weekend long. We will provide you with a lot of information as we get closer, but you don’t want to miss this. We will also kick things off in Colorado, with our CAMP Arrapaho S’more, on June 14-16: the first of three events we have scheduled in Colorado in 2024!
July is going to be a very busy month - we will hold The Briar Bottom S’more, in North Carolina, on July 12-14, and then we are going to South Dakota, on July 24-29. It is the first time we are going there, and we are doing it right: you will have the option to just ride paved roads, at our CAMP Black Hills S’more, and/or join us for our Black Hills BDR X ride, a big loop of mixed paved/dirt roads. Either way, it is going to be epic. The two South Dakota events are also booking very fast, so don’t sit on them…
August will see us busy riding both paved and unpaved roads in Colorado once again: we will kick things off with our CAMP Colorado BDR Ride on August 8-13, and we will then go motocamping once again the gorgeous Rocky Mountains National Park on August 14-18 for our Colorado S’more.
In September we have two events we never organized before: a Lake Michigan Circle Motocamping Ride (August 30-September 4), which will take us all around Lake Michigan and to several spots along the Southern shore of Lake Superior, following paved roads; and a canoe camping trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area of Minnesota, on September 8-13, one of the most remote regions of the United States.
October will be a phenomenal month, entirely dedicated to events in locations that will see us surrounded by the wonderful colors of Fall. On October 3-7 we will have our CAMP Down Rally, in Virginia. Like for its Northern Rally counterpart in June, this event will be more than just a motocamping weekend: picture lots of fun activities, vendors, training opportunities directly on site, and paved and dual sport riding. Immediately after, on October 6-13, we will be riding the Mid Atlantic BDR, starting right from Virginia and all the way to Pennsylvania. This is considered the easiest of the BDRs, as it follows mostly forest roads through the mountains. It will be the perfect time of the year to do this, with the leaves a million shades of red. Finally, we will close our motocamping season the right way, with our Halloween S’more, in the Black Forest of Wisconsin, on October 25-27, another new destination for CAMP.
I hope you are excited as I am for next year. I will follow up in the next couple of weeks with the full schedule of Social and Training events for 2024. In the meantime, feel free to reach out with any questions. And don't forget our Holiday party, on December 15.
