Join 2023 CAMP Poop Scoop MotoGP Fantasy League
For the fifth year in a row CAMP - The Motocamping Club is organizing its annual MotoGP Fantasy League! Pick your six riders and see what happens! You have time until March 19, 2023. All info is below.
This year’s MotoGP Fantasy league is open to both CAMP members and non: your entry ticket is $20 if you are a CAMP member and $30 if you aren’t. The entire sum collected goes to buy prizes for the winning teams. Teams placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd and last will each get a prize. If you come in last place you get a nice camping poop scoop. The prizes for the winners will be communicated as soon as we know how many people are participating in the League (the more participants, the more money, the bigger the prizes). Last year’s prizes included a Jetboil stove, a Stanley Beer Growler with mugs, an Esee Izula Knife and obviously a camping poop scoop for the team ending last.
How it works
Your team will be made of 6 riders, to be chosen from the options below: 5 riders from the MotoGP series (one from the red group, one from the blue group, and so forth) and one rider from Moto2.
After each weekend, your team will obtain the SUM of the points obtained by your riders in the two weekend races. New for 2023, every week there will be in fact two races, a Sprint one on Saturday and a Regular one on Sunday. Points will be assigned according to the MotoGP official point system:
In Saturday’s Sprint race only nine riders score points:, the winner gets 12 points, with the remaining eight positions down to ninth scoring 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points.
In the regular Sunday’s races, the top 15 riders score points: 25 points for first place, 20 for second and so on: 16, 13, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
Example: If a rider in your team finishes in 1st position in the sprint race, and fifth in the regular race, he will get 23 points (12+11). If one or more riders in your team do not score points in any race, they obtain 0 (zero) points. If your rider gets injured and cannot race, you are getting zero points.
The team at the end of the season with the most points will be the winner. In case of a tie, the team whose riders had the most wins in the Regular Sunday races is the winner; if the tie persists, the team with the most wins in the Regular AND in the Sprint races wins. If that doesn’t fix it, the team with the highest number of all of the above and of pole positions in Sprint races wins. In the very unlikely case we still have a tie at this point, we draw a winner among the tied teams.
I (Michele) will act as the Commissioner, keeping track of every participant’s points after every race, and updating it all in a spreadsheet available for consultation HERE. You can already see my team in the spreadsheet (Orso Burbo), with my choices (I may change them before the deadline of March 19).
How to register and how to pay the buying in fee?

Send an email to michele@motocamping.club with the name of your team and the six riders you choose. The deadline is March 19. The first race is on March 26th.
Pay your fee via Venmo or PayPal (we will send you the handle to pay to) and you are good to go.

Your team is made of 6 riders - 5 MotoGP riders, and 1 Moto 2 rider. Make your selection and send it to michele@motocamping.club.
Step 1- Choose 5 MotoGP riders: one rider from the red group, one from the blue, one from the green, one from the orange, one from the black. I have indicated if they have switched motorcycles / teams for this year.
