Time to renew your CAMP membership for 2023

Our season is not over yet, and we still have our last S'more in the Smoky Mountains. But since several among you have asked about the 2023 CAMP membership...here we go: you can now renew your membership for 2023. And the faster you do it, the more chances you have to get a cool present or score big savings. You have two memberships options:

  • CAMP Original Membership, which remains at $40 for the whole year (same as last year). This membership is the same as before: it gives you access to all our events (motocamping trips, training days, seminars) and to all the discounts we have negotiated with our friends.

  • CAMP Membership PLUS includes all the benefits of our Original Membership, PLUS you have 4 days of cool motorcycles rental included, PLUS the chance to rent the same cool motorcycles for only $70/day once your first four rental days elapse, PLUS many other benefits (extra discounts with Temple of Moto, extra CAMP swag and personalized gifts, first access to all our events). If you decide to go with the PLUS membership before December 31st, you only pay $350 for the whole year, rather than $500.

The first 35 people to renew their membership for 2023 will get an Opinel foldable camping Knife included in their membership (value $15). These are super cool little folding knives that are very well made (in France) and will come in handy in our motocamping adventures. And if you renew before December 31st you will also have the chance to win a S’more Pass, i.e. free access to all CAMP 2023 S’mores. This is worth several hundreds dollars. Yes, you read it right: we will draw one lucky winner among everyone who renews before the end of this year, and he/she will come for free to all our S’mores in 2023.

Which membership is right for you? Here is a little comparison of what's included:

CAMP Membership Original makes the most sense if you don't think you will ever need to rent a motorcycle and if you don't think you will want to join a Temple of Moto tour (that discount alone is way more than the membership). But CAMP Membership PLUS makes sense in a couple of scenarios: for instance, if you think you are going to want to rent a motorcycle to join one of our more distant S'mores - our member Olivier used his PLUS membership to find a BMW GS waiting for him at camp for our Colorado s'more, and he ended up spending a lot less money than other members who rented a bike elsewhere. Or say if you want to rent a motorcycle for even just a few days to do your own thing.

Why renewing?

"Ok", you might say, "but what did CAMP do for me to consider joining/renewing my membership?". Good question. During the course of 2022, CAMP organized:

  • 7 motocamping trips, all around the US, from Wisconsin to Colorado, from Illinois to Minnesota, from Tennessee to Michigan;

  • 2 off road rides (in the Smokies and in Wisconsin);

  • A ski trip;

  • 4 days of off road training with our friends of Heavy Enduro;

  • Several seminars on a variety of topics (from motorcycle maintenance to GPS route planning) and several bookclub meetings;

  • Events specifically targeted at helping newbies getting into motocamping (from seminars, to actual free motocamping trips);

  • A motoGP fantasy league and a mileage contest, both of which are still ongoing;

  • Discounts with a number of businesses (both local and online), the value of which far exceeds what your membership costs.

These are the hard numbers. But more than this, what I believe we have done is giving a home to a community of motorcyclists and outdoors enthusiasts that didn't have a place to gather before. Many friendships have blossomed in front of our campfires, many s'mores have been consumed, and many miles have been ridden.

What will CAMP - The Motocamping Club do in 2023?

2023 will see more of the same good stuff, and some exciting new things, exclusively open to our members. We are planning the following:

  • At least six classic motocamping S'mores, where we ride to camp and spend the weekend riding and enjoying the outdoors. Some of these S'mores will be paved only, and some of these will have off road options also.

  • At least 2 offroad moto-camping rides, in addition to the S'mores.

  • Many training opportunities both off road (with our Heavy Enduro friends) and at the track.

  • Many training seminars.

  • Bookclub meetings and monthly meetings to get together and socialise.

  • Our MotoGP Fantasy League and our Mileage Contest will be back again!

I hope you will join me again for next year - cold months are ahead, but we are going to keep our motocamping flame alive. Our next meetings are:
