BIG BEND S’MORE AND BDR X, FEBRUARY 16-22
WHAT AND WHEN
Join us for our season opener in the great State of Texas, on February 16-22, with an event that offers both paved and unpaved riding options. You will in fact have the choice to either ride the wonderful paved roads in and around Big Bend National Park or to ride the newly released Big Bend Backcountry Discovery Route X, a 650 mile loop mixing dirt, sand and paved mountain roads (read more about the Big Bend BDR X here).
WHERE
This event makes a long loop in and around Big Bend National Park. We therefore will change location and campground every night. We will meet in Alpine, TX, on February 16th, where we will end up again on February 21st. In between, we will spend nights in Rio Grand Village, Terlingua, Presidio, and Van Horn. We will be staying in a mix of commercial and National park’s campgrounds, some of which offer full amenities (showers, electricity…) while others are more basic.
Although riding (paved or unpaved) is our primary focus, nothing prevents you from joining with your car and focus on exploring the park’s desert and the many attractions the area has to offer, including historical towns, hot springs and, why not, crossing the border to Mexico. The weather towards the end of February will be warm during the day and chill at night.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST AND WHAT’S INCLUDED?
This S’more costs $375 per person. This includes your camping spot for SIX nights, curated rides with relative GPX files and a riders’ info pack with things to do in the area. You don’t have a motorcycle but would like to join? Take advantage of CAMP Membership Plus, which includes 4 days of motorcycle rental. There is also the possibility to have your motorcycle transported back and forth from the Chicagoland in our enclosed trailer for a fee (there may be also the possibility for a couple of people to ride in our truck) - send us an email to enquire about it.
