WHAT, WHEN AND WHERE
Join us for our very fist Equinox S’more, an overnight motocamping ride to celebrate the arrival of Spring. We will be camping one night at the Richard Bong State Park, in Wisconsin, on March 22. We will organize rides from Chicago and other locations to get there.
Once designated to be a jet fighter base, Richard Bong State Recreation Area is named after Major Richard I. Bong, a Poplar, WI native who was America's leading air ace during World War II. The air base was abandoned three days before concrete was to be poured for a 12,500-foot runway. Local citizens had the foresight to protect this open space for future generations.
Campground amenities include a shower building, flush and vault toilets, a dump station and a playground area.
This is a PAVED event. However, depending on the weather, the park’s off road area MAY or MAY NOT be open to the public. If it is open, nothing stops you from going for a couple of laps to take the dust off your off road capabilities, if you want.
This S’more is only $25, and it includes your camping spot for one night.
